Cancelling Quizlet Plus takes about a minute, you keep every set you made, and you can take those sets with you to a free app. Here is the exact path for each device, what changes after you cancel, and how to export your sets first.
Quick Answer
- iPhone or iPad (subscribed through the App Store): Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Quizlet → Cancel Subscription.
- Android (subscribed through Google Play): Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Quizlet → Cancel.
- Web (subscribed on quizlet.com): Settings → Subscription or Billing → Cancel.
- You keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for. Your sets stay in your account.
- Export the sets you want to keep somewhere else before you lose offline access.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Most people subscribe inside the Quizlet app, which means Apple holds the subscription, not Quizlet. Quizlet support cannot cancel it for you, so do not waste a ticket on it.
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Quizlet.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
The screen shows the date your access ends. Plus keeps working until then.
If you were charged for a renewal you did not want, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the Quizlet charge and choose Request a refund. Apple decides, usually within a couple of days.
Cancel on Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Tap Quizlet → Cancel subscription and confirm.
Refunds for Play Store subscriptions go through Google's refund request page, not Quizlet.
Cancel on the web
If you upgraded on quizlet.com in a browser, the subscription belongs to Quizlet directly.
- Sign in at quizlet.com.
- Open Settings from your profile menu.
- Find the Subscription (or Billing) section and click Cancel.
If you cannot see a cancel option on the web, your subscription is probably through Apple or Google, so use the steps above.
Cancel before the annual renewal
Quizlet Plus is sold as an annual plan and renews automatically. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancelling on the renewal day itself can still trigger the charge, and then you are asking for a refund instead of simply not paying.
What happens after you cancel
- Your account and sets stay. Nothing is deleted.
- You go back to the free plan. That means ads, a monthly cap on Learn mode rounds and practice tests, and no offline sets.
- Sets you made keep working in study and flashcard modes.
If the limits are the reason you are leaving, the practical move is to take your sets to an app that does not have them.
Export your sets first
Quizlet only lets you export sets you created yourself, and only on the website.
- On quizlet.com, open the set.
- Click the three dots (More) and choose Export.
- Choose how terms and definitions are separated (tab and new line is the safest).
- Click Copy text.
- Paste into a plain text editor and save the file as
.csvor.txt.
There is no images export, and sets you copied from someone else do not show the Export option. For those, a browser extension such as Quizlet Exporter reads the cards from the page and downloads a CSV.
Move your sets to a free app
Once you have a CSV, you have two good free routes.
Flashi (iPhone, free). Open Flashi, choose import, pick the CSV. Your terms become cards scheduled with SM-2 spaced repetition, the same method Anki uses, with no round limits. Flashi can also build new decks from pasted text, so you are not dependent on finding someone else's set. Free to download; Pro ($2.99 a month) is only needed for unlimited AI decks. See the free Quizlet alternative for iPhone comparison, or Anki vs Quizlet if you are weighing those two.
Anki (free on desktop and Android, $24.99 on iPhone). Import the CSV with File → Import. Strong scheduling and a huge shared library, but more setup, and the iPhone app is paid.
