This policy applies to both the Flashi mobile application (available on the App Store) and the Flashi website (flashi.app), collectively referred to as "our Services."

Flashi is a free flashcard application that helps you study using AI-powered content generation and spaced repetition. We believe in privacy by design, which means we collect and store as little data as possible while still providing you with a great learning experience.

Flashi Mobile App

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All of your core study data is stored locally on your device using secure local storage. We do not have access to this data, and it never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it. This includes:

• Flashcard decks and individual cards you create or generate
• Study progress, review history, and performance statistics
• Study goals and learning plans
• Study method preferences and settings
• Notification preferences
• Theme preferences (light/dark mode)

Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

Flashi uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. Firebase Analytics may collect:

• App usage events (e.g., screens viewed, features used, study sessions completed)
• Device information (device model, operating system version, app version)
• Aggregate user properties (e.g., subscription status, total decks created, preferred language)
• An anonymous app instance identifier (not linked to your personal identity)

AI Processing (Gemini API)

When you use the AI flashcard generation feature, your topic requests are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate flashcards. Google may process this data according to their own privacy policy. We do not store your AI requests or the generated content on our servers.

Google AdMob

Flashi displays advertisements through Google AdMob to support the free version of the app. AdMob may collect certain information to serve personalized ads, including:

• Device identifiers (such as advertising IDs)
• Approximate location data
• App usage data
• Interests and demographics (inferred from ad interactions)

Subscriptions (RevenueCat)

Flashi uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

• An anonymous user identifier for cross-device subscription restoration

Notifications

We use notification services to send you local reminders for study sessions. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not require your flashcard content to be sent to external servers. We only request notification permissions to help you stay on track with your studies.

Deck Sharing

When you choose to share a deck, the deck content is uploaded to Firebase Firestore so that others can access it via a shared link. Only the deck content you explicitly share is uploaded — no personal information is attached.

Flashi Website (flashi.app)

Analytics (Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager)

The Flashi website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) to understand how visitors interact with our website. These services may collect:

• Pages visited and navigation patterns
• Interactions with buttons and links (e.g., App Store clicks, CTA clicks)
• Scroll depth and time on page
• Referring website or search terms
• Browser type, device type, and screen resolution
• Approximate geographic location (country/region level)

• Provide and improve our Services: Analytics data helps us understand which features are most used and where we can improve.
• Process AI requests: When you request AI-generated flashcards, your topic is sent to an external AI provider to generate content.
• Display advertisements: AdMob uses collected data to show you relevant advertisements in the free version of the app.
• Manage subscriptions: RevenueCat processes subscription data to ensure you have access to the features you've purchased.
• Respond to inquiries: If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your message.

Data Security

Your data security is important to us:

• All study data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms
• We don't transmit your flashcard content to our servers
• The app requires HTTPS for all network connections
• The website uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• We use industry-standard security practices for local data storage

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention and Deletion

Mobile app: All your data is stored locally on your device. It remains until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data. We don't retain copies of your data on our servers.

Website: Analytics data is retained by Google according to their standard data retention policies. Cookie data persists until you clear your browser cookies or withdraw consent.
